As 2024 draws to a close, we are reflecting on what has been an extraordinary year of achievements, growth, and innovation. None of which would have been possible without the incredible efforts of our dedicated staff, the trust and collaboration of our valued partners, and the continued support of our loyal end-users. Together, we’ve navigated challenges, celebrated milestones, and strengthened our position as a leader in marine survey technology. The following are just some of the highlights we’ve experienced this year…
Expanding the team
On the staff front, in December, Paul Stone was appointed as General Manager of GeoAcoustics Ltd, bringing 17 years of experience from Seamap Malaysia, including five years as General Manager at their HQ in Malaysia. Earlier, in April, Dave Holland joined us as Chief Technology Officer. A veteran in hydrographic, geophysical, and oceanographic survey industries, Dave is essential to our work in advancing our bathymetric sonar, sub-bottom profiler, and side scan sonar product lines.
New partners and awards
In partner news, GeoAcoustics welcomed Topsun Marine Tech. Co., Ltd. as a new channel partner for China in April. In November, we appointed No Humes as our first channel partner dedicated to the Australian and New Zealand markets. This collaboration is set to enhance the availability and support of GeoAcoustics' products in these regions, leveraging No Humes' expertise in autonomous marine technologies.
We also continued our run of business awards success in 2024. Our King's Award for Enterprise Trophy from 2023 landed at our headquarters in June, and further cementing our reputation as a great place to work, we were named as the Medium Business of the Year at the Eastern Daily Press Business Awards in November.
Something a little different!
Finally, we should mention our standout moment in the summer, when we were selected to take part in the incredible Future Lab exhibit at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This event provided a unique opportunity to demonstrate our technological advancements to a diverse audience. From school children and visiting dignitaries to racing drivers and the public at large, we spent four days explaining how our products work and how they help industry and progress around the world as part of the important subsea sector.
Overall, 2024 was a year of strategic growth and achievement for GeoAcoustics Ltd, marked by leadership enhancements, product innovation, third-party recognition, and active event participation. From welcoming new team members who have brought fresh ideas and expertise, to launching cutting-edge products that are already making an impact in the industry, every step we have taken this year has been a collective effort.
Here's to everyone who has been part of the GeoAcoustics journey – thank you for making 2024 a truly remarkable year!
